Super Grande Films was founded in 2001 by Designer & Filmmaker Anthony Stabley as a means to produce Art-House Cinema in the U.S. and Latin America. With the help of Producers Marco Niro, Mariana Kahlo and Danny Miller, SGF completed the experimental short films – La Carta, This is Not a Film and Maldita in Mexico City and Los Angeles.
This was followed by the pop art comedy Marta’s Sex Tape, which starred ALMA nominee Pilar Padilla, Sol Gallardo and Mauricio Acle. MST participated in seven international film festivals, including screenings in Holland, Australia and NYC. It received an Underground Spirit Award and several promising reviews. Bad Lit described it as “a big, bold and splashy film.” The AZFEST called it “a visually stunning film that uses a restrictive color palette, similar to the work of pop-artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Wayne Thiebaud.”

In 2006, SGF created Electronica, a music-driven short series set in Hollywood featuring Najara Townsend (Me and You and Everyone We Know). Electronica screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner, won an Audience Award (iPOD Film Festival) and was nominated Best Short (HDFest). SGF’s latest feature is Everlasting, a thriller produced by David Hillary (Spun) and Shannon Makhanian (Five Star Day). Casting is underway.
